I am Elaine Hogan, the Co-owner of this story. The other owner is LYME.
I am the person who always had those embarrassing bulging doctors’ files that took junior doctors ages to get through and said NOTHING at the end. Always an anomaly that required referral to another section. Fibromyalgia, allergies, multiple chemical sensitivities, sensory sensitivities, fatigue, IBS, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, rosacea, depression, swollen kidney, UTIs, Liver problems, heart rate dropping, Brain Fog, low neutrophils, low platelets, rare blood disorder the list continues. Yes lots of people have one of these, many have a few but having them all everyday, that’s LYME.
I am the person that every morning felt the challenge to deal with which part of me was a problem, the migratory pain ! combined with that low energy that made it difficult to get out of bed. Some days were very difficult as the act of putting your feet on the ground can hurt. I am the person that every night thought I could die tonight and every morning hiding it from your friends and family.
I am the person who wanted to be your friend but sometimes the effort of being was too much for me and I retreated. I am the person who had panic attacks or felt faint every time I went into a shop, stood in a queue, sat in classes, restaurants, parties, workplaces.
I am the mother of 6 amazing children who deserved more. Thank you for being my reasons to not give up.
I am the person who struggled through and got my BA, my Hdip, my Dip in Herbal medicine and Naturopathy and Functional medicine and I’m not finished. I was supported by my partner and family. Thank you.
A rheumatologist told me that my mindset was strong and I would cope. Thank you for those words they helped.
I was believed by a German Clinic, Thank you. I am being treated, I am treating. I am well. My mind is my own and that is making the difference!! This parasite is not in full control anymore. I am back. My internal body is no longer user friendly for this parasite.
I believe in a higher power and Thank it for all the support I received. I have found wonderful friends, I am blessed.
Lyme has gotten me to where I am and who I am.
So I am opening Clinic dedicated to chronic illness with a tool box for everyone to begin LIVING again.
